Wade dedicates European Championship title win to son Arthur: ”This is for Arthur”

James Wade claimed his first major title since 2014 on Sunday defeating Simon Whitlock in the final of the European Championship.
Wade spoke afterwards and admitted that he hasn’t been able to really enjoy other major wins previously but he will with this one. He also sent a message to the other players that he has shown this weekend that he’s dangerous and that they better watch out.
"That was for my son, Arthur," said Wade. "I'm actually emotional about this - it's an amazing feeling and I'm going to enjoy this win.”
”I've gone through some tough times but this is for Arthur. I've won TV titles before and never made the most of it, but I'm buzzing.”
"It's not often that I am lost for words but I am after this. I've shown that I'm dangerous and everyone needs to watch out.
"Today I went into every game battling. I’ve been a lucky boy but perhaps that makes up for some of the misfortune I’ve had in recent years, and it’s a step in the right direction."

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises. It happens, I have watched and heard Littler being jeered - Dirk van Duijvenbode in Holland, January this year. Where was your outrage then?
