Waites after reaching Semi-Finals at Lakeside: 'Conan put up a real fight, it was cracker'

Scott Waites is through to the semi-finals at Lakeside having seen off Conan Whitehead.
Waites spoke afterwards and called it a cracking game between the pair.
‘Conan put up a real fight, it was a cracking game', said the two-time Lakeside champion.
On the potential of winning another World title and the semi-final to come, he said bring it on.
‘That’s what we come here for, bring on Saturday and if we get another win tomorrow, we’ve got the final to look forward to on Sunday.’

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
