Ross Montgomery became the first seed to crash out in the men's tournament of the BDO World Championship at the Lakeside. The Scotsman lost 2-1 to Scott Waites.
The two-time Lakeside champion took a 2-0 lead, before Montgomery claimed the third set. The fourth set went all the way as Waites claimed victory in the fifth leg by hitting an 11-dart leg. Waites will now meet a Welshman as he faces Dean Reynolds or Chris Harris in the last 16.
