Webster on win over Dekker: "I've had a tour of Europe just to get here so to get the win is great”

Darren Webster is still in the reckoning at the German Darts Grand Prix after defeating Jan Dekker in yesterday’s afternoon session. ‘The Demolition Man’ nearly didn’t make it to Munich though.

Due to a fire at Stansted Airport it left certain players needing to make alternative plans to get there also including Ryan Meikle & Steve West who all live in the Norfolk/Suffolk area. This lead Webster to go on a ‘tour of Europe’ to get there so for him to get the win was great despite him being a bit ‘shaky’. "I've had a tour of Europe just to get here so to get the win is great," said Webster. "We got diverted [from Stansted to fly from] Manchester and flew to Austria. "It was a little bit shaky - I played okay but in the next round I've got to be on it against Chizzy." Click for the prize fund breakdown for the European Tour events.
