Whitlock impressive in seeing off dangerous debutant Hempel, Dolan edges out Bunting

Whitlock was facing off against impressive debutant Florian Hempel and dispelled the challenge of the German with a 103.5 average with a high checkout of 130. This compared to a 93 average from his opponent allowed him to move through in a 6-3 victory.

Dolan on the other hand booked his place in the Last 16 with an impressive performance of his own by defeating Stephen Bunting 6-4. This included a 97 average and 6/8 on the doubles from 'The History Maker' as he continues his good spell of form as of late.
