Simon Whitlock is through with a commanding victory over Richard North, a close friend winning 10-2 in a game that could have been a whitewash in the end.

Whitlock used points that were Allan keys as he continues to tinker with his best set up. On his route through to round 2 at the World Matchplay he hit four 180’s and a high checkout of 126.
North struggled with his opening game on the World Matchplay stage which is understandable but if form is anything to go by he will be back.
‘The Wizard’ will face either James Wade or Jermaine Wattimena in Round 2 later this week.
Monday session schedule:
Kim Huybrechts (94.17) 13-12 (91.00) John Henderson
Simon Whitlock (88.2) 10-2 (80.4) Richard North
James Wade v Jermaine Wattimena
Peter Wright v Jelle Klaasen
