James Wade is one of the favourites for the World Matchplay being the only player left to have claimed glory at the Winter Gardens and being a player on form.

Despite that though he was given a tough match by Jermaine Wattimena with Wade having to mount a comeback after a nervy start. ‘Machine Gun’ kept on him and after a missed match dart it went to a tie break
A D18 sealed it for Wade who looking at his average and statistics has a lot more to come but will know he has to step it up to stay in contention.
Monday session schedule:
Kim Huybrechts (94.17) 13-12 (91.00) John Henderson
Simon Whitlock (88.2) 10-2 (80.4) Richard North
James Wade (89.6) 12 (19) 10 (87.63) Jermaine Wattimena
Peter Wright v Jelle Klaasen
