Whitlock to face Noppert in first confirmed semi-final at International Darts Open

The first semi-final at the International Darts Open has been confirmed with Simon Whitlock taking on Danny Noppert later this evening.
Whitlock started proceedings with a ding dong battle with James Richardson.
It went all the way to a last leg but the defining moment has to be seen as ‘Ruthless’ hitting 3 treble 1’s in a row.
Richardson missed a match dart and Whitlock made no mistake in closing out a tense victory.
His opponent in the semi-finals, Danny Noppert survived a late barrage in making it through.
Noppie went 5-1 up to be pegged back to 5-5 before he finally took it in a deciding leg late on.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
