James Wilson won in a close match from Madars Razma with 6-4 in the first round of the European Darts Trophy in Gottingen. Scorings-wise there was not much difference but James won the game on the checkout percentages (28.57% against 42.86%). Wilson plays Dave Chisnall in the next round.
Keegan Brown won with 6-2 with an average of 98.66 from Jonathan Worsley and plays against Benito van der Pas in round 2.
Zoran Lerchbacher was on fire against Ricky Evans (6-3) with an average of 100.27 and he will need that too in the next round when he is facing Michael van Gerwen on Saturday.
Jermaine Wattimena beat Mick Todd (who had a dramatic checkout percentage of 15.79% on 19 attempts) with 6-3 and will play Michel Smith in round 2 who he has beaten with 6-2 a few days ago in Players Championship 21.
