Winmau has further expanded its team of international darts players with the signing of Canada’s Dawson Murschell on a 3 year deal.
21 year-old Murschell from Medicine Hat, Alberta counts the World Cup Doubles and Mixed Doubles titles amongst his achievements, as well as two Quebec Open wins, a top eight finish in the US Masters and a televised victory over James ‘The Machine’ Wade.
In addition to representing the company at events and tournaments around the world, Murschell, who is also sponsored by Winmau’s Canadian distributor, B.Y. Group, will contribute to Winmau’s product development programme.
“Winmau has been at the bedrock of darts for so long. I grew up with the brand and it is synonymous with the sport,” says Murschell. “To be a part of the Winmau set up now is amazing. With the company’s support and that of B.Y. Group my focus is on increasing my scoring power and adding at least a couple of points to my average.”
Ian Flack, Winmau’s Sales and Marketing Director, said: “Dawson is typical of the young, up-and-coming darts players who are challenging the established players at every event. His passion for the sport and drive to succeed are an inspiration. He is exactly the kind of player we want as part of the Winmau family, and the fact that he is learning from and playing with our Canadian star Jeff Smith is a real bonus!”
