The end of the
World Grand Prix 2017 is nigh and we are greeted with 2 unexpected semi-finals at the Citywest in Dublin which despite the format no-one would have predicted at the start of play.
Only one seed remains and is the favourite that is recent first time TV winner Mensur Suljovic who is gaining massive amounts of traction and after defeating Peter Wright will take on another major winner in his semi-final who he is expected to beat but could pose a massive challenge to the Gentle and that is Simon Whitlock, he has flown under the radar this week but the former European Champion will be hoping to add the World Grand Prix to his list of honours.
Speaking of radars, someone on everyone's radar this week has been John Henderson in the second semi-final. The Huntly Highlander has had the toughest draw out of any of the remaining players but his doubling skills have brought him to this position where he has reached his first
PDC semi-final. He faces Daryl Gurney who came through an emotional sudden death win over Robert Thornton and is quite a lot of peoples' pick to win the tournament but don't write off there being a 'Big Hendo Weekendo' to remember.
