Gary Anderson, Peter Wright and Phil Taylor will all be amongst the seeds hoping to take advantage of Michael van Gerwen’s absence from the field over the next 3
World Series of Darts events. The Dutchman misses out due to the recent birth of his daughter, with Anderson and co looking to move up the rankings table, and remove the world number 1 from the top seed spot.
MvG currently has a 12-point gap over the rest of the field, the equivalent of an event win, but with Auckland, Melbourne and Perth still to play there is plenty of points up for grabs heading into Novembers Finals.
Daryl Gurney, a runner up in his last and only appearance will be hoping for a similar performance this time out. The Northern Irishman currently has 8 Points, and will have 1 eye on a possible premier league selection next year, hoping to use the world series as proof he can mix it with the big boys.
Dawson Murschell and Dave Richardson are currently the highest ranked non-seeded players from the series so far. Both earnt victories in Las Vegas at the PartyPoker U.S Darts Masters beating James Wade and former world youth champion Max Hopp respectively. Hopp is one of 15 men all on just a single point but is guaranteed another shot at moving up the rankings at the last event before the finals, the newly added German Darts Masters.
The full table can be seen below, and with 4 events left it really is all to play for.
