Wright pleased to be through after ‘tough’ win against Lewis: ‘It was great to win’

Peter Wright survived multiple match darts in seeing off Adrian Lewis to end the Last 16 at The Masters.
Wright spoke afterwards and said that it was great to win but it was tough against ‘Jackpot’. "It's great to win but it was tough," said Wright. "I think we were both battling ourselves and not each other. "I've worked really hard this month so I stuck with it and got through. If I could take my practice game up there, it would have been a lot better. "Tomorrow's a different day so we'll see what happens - I've got time to improve." to check out the tournament centre for the Masters.

If it is going to be done to English players, then we are more than entitled to dish the same back when players face off in England. - I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
