GRANDPRIX RD2 WRIGHT12

Peter Wright came back from 3-0 down against Mensur Suljovic to win 4-3 and get through to his maiden World Grand Prix final.

Suljovic started the stronger of the two players, landing a tidy 133 finish to go a leg up. He followed this with two comfortable legs, including a 96 for the first set.
Austria's number one remained in control as he nailed double 10 to go two sets clear at the interval. Wright's struggle continued as he played lethargically, allowing Mensur to comfortably win the first leg of the set.
Double trouble plagued Wright as he missed two at double six which Suljovic capitalised on to break throw. Wright showed signs of resurgence with an 88 finish, checking out on Mensur's favourite double 14. The comeback was short lived however, as Suljovic hit a double 14 of his own to secure the set and move a set away from the final.
The Scot was on fire at the start of set three, finding double 12 for a ten dart leg. 'The Gentle' showed his fondness for the fourteens as he hit a single then a double for a 42 finish. He followed this up with a double seven in the next leg to move one away from victory.
Suljovic would have to wait however, as Wright hit double one to win a set. Wright bagged the next set on double 10. It went 3-3 after Wright hit a brilliant 130 on the bull. The incredible comeback was complete when Wright finished 80 to round off the match 4-3.
