Michael van Gerwen will not win a fourth consecutive European Tour title. Peter Wright beat the world number one in the quarter-finals at the European Darts Grand Prix.

The Dutchman was broken by Wright in the sixth leg with a 53 checkout. Van Gerwen broke back immediately, but lost his own throw again. That cost him the game because 'Snakebite' held his own leg for the victory.
Wright faces Jamie Hughes in the semi-finals as the Tipton ace defeated Nathan Aspinall 6-5. Ian White and Steve Beaton will meet in the other semi-final.
