Wright wins first title in nine months by winning Players Championship 14

Peter Wright is back in the winners circle for the first time in 9 months. 'Snakebite' has been close but to no avail but today he squeezed over the line against Rob Cross who was aiming for 2 from 2.

Wright went 5-1 up against Cross but was pulled back to 5-4 with 'Voltage' having a Van Gerwen-esque burst of play where he looked unstoppable. The former UK Open champion kept his cool though and pinned double 16 to win his first title of 2018.
Both men have had brilliant weekends as the build up to the World Matchplay continues. They will have two Euro Tour's and a double shot of midweek Pro Tour action over the next two weeks to keep the form going.
