Howson and Burness win qualifiers for World Seniors Darts Championship

Richie Howson and Kevin Burness have completed the field of participants for the World Seniors Darts Championship. The Englishman and the Northern Irishman won the two qualification tournaments.

Howson won the first qualification tournament on Saturday by narrowly beating Ian Moss (6-5) in the final. A day later Burness won the qualifier after a 6-3 victory over Dave Prins.

The inaugural edition of the World Seniors Darts Championship will be held from February 3-6 at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet.

The organisation had first handed out 22 wildcards for this prestigious tournament to darts icons such as Phil Taylor, Martin Adams, John Part, Ted Hankey, Peter Manley and Paul Lim. The last two spots were thus distributed during the qualifying tournaments this weekend.
