Nick Kenny takes title at Champion of Champions 2024

Nick Kenny took the title Saturday at the Champion of Champions tournament put on by darts manufacturer Red Dragon Darts. He proved to be the best of the immense field of participants in Cardiff.

Champion of Champions is a unique tournament on the darts calendar. At this event the winners of 256 pub qualifiers from across the UK compete against each other for the ultimate title. The winner of the final tournament picks up the top prize of 10,000 pounds. Previous winners include Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton and Ryan Searle, while Kurt Parry was the defending champion. Throughout the tournament a format of best of 3 legs will be played. It is therefore important to start the match sharp, as the match can be over in as little as five minutes.

Kenny qualified for the last sixteen by successively defeating Dean Cundy (2-0), Jesse Heal (2-0), Johnny Haines (2-1) and Lee Williams (2-0). He then settled with Liam Meek (2-1), followed by a win over Gareth Griffiths (2-0) in the quarter-finals. With a 2-1 win over John Mann, the Welshman then qualified for the final, where he beat Matthew Dennant 2-0.
