Owen claims opening week title in new phase of Online Darts League season

Robert Owen took the overall victory on Saturday evening on the final evening of the first week of play in the fourth phase of the Online Darts Live League.
The six best players of the past week met on Saturday in the final groups. From Group A, Rob Collins and Nick Fullwell were able to advance to the last four. Fullwell did so after victories over Robert Thornton (4-3) and Rob Collins (4-2). Collins won the head-to-head game against Thornton.

In the other group, Robert Owen and Jamie Kelling advanced to the semi-finals. Both players won in this group against Stephen Burton, while Owen became group winner after a 4-1 win over Kelling.
Fullwell then won 4-3 against Kelling in the first semi-final, while Owen triumphed 4-1 against Collins. The latter then took the win in the consolation final, after which Owen won the final 4-0.

- obviously littler has the potential to surpass everybody simply because nobody has been this good at this age before, but people who think he would be any kind of favourite right now against prime taylor in a big final have short memories. it's obvious that prime taylor wouldn't win as many world titles if he was playing today, but there's also good reason to believe he'd be winning more than anybody else. hell, his statistical profile still stands alone in darts history and he might statistically be even better if he was playing today with better equipment, larger beds, more competition therefore more motivation, etc.colt24-03-2025
