Scholten becomes 21st player announced for World Seniors Darts Championship

The penultimate wildcard has been revealed for the 2021 World Seniors Darts Championship with 2004 UK Open champion, Roland Scholten set to be involved as one of the decorated eligible players.

Scholten, also known as 'The Tripod', will join recent announcements in Robert Thornton, Peter Manley, Kevin Painter, Terry Jenkins and Tony O'Shea.

As well as the initial World Champions such as Phil Taylor, Martin Adams, John Lowe, Richie Burnett and John Part.

A former BDO World Championship semi-finalist, the Dutchman reached his success during his PDC career as a runner-up in the World Grand Prix and Premier League as well as reaching the semi-finals of the World Matchplay. He ultimately retired after the 2013 season but will return for this tournament.

The two remaining spots will be made available during a qualification tournament in November 2021. More information about this tournament is not yet known. The first edition of the World Senior Championships will be played in early 2022. An exact date is not confirmed yet.
