2020 European Championship moved to Oberhausen, bumper session set for first day of the tournament

The European Championship is set to take place this year in Oberhausen from Thursday, October 29 to Sunday, November 1, it has been announced.

Acting as the season ending tournament for the European Tour, it sees the top 32 after four tournaments on a massively truncated European Tour schedule qualify.

Dortmund was initially set to be the home of this year's tournament but Oberhausen will stage the event at the König Pilsener Arena instead.

Rob Cross is the defending champion in the European Championship after defeating Gerwyn Price 11-6 in the final last year.

As well as the announcement of the venue, the schedule has also been revealed with a bumper session set to begin the tournament with all 16 first round ties taking place on Thursday October 29 from 4pm local time. This means that five sessions will take place over four days.
