2020 German Darts Championship schedule – Saturday afternoon session

The second day of action is here at the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim with the European Tour returning for the first time since the Coronavirus pandemic began.

Friday saw a record breaking five Germans win through to the second round in a European Tour event with the top two in Max Hopp and Gabriel Clemens being joined by Nico Kurz, Lukas Wenig and Dragutin Horvat.

Wenig starts proceedings off on Saturday after victory over Cody Harris on Friday, he faces a player who 'Code Star' vanquished in Salzburg last weekend in Dave Chisnall with 'Chizzy' aiming to bounce back after that poor display.

Following that is Jermaine Wattimena against Mervyn King, both have their sights on confirming spots in tournaments. For the former, he will look to make a claim for a World Cup of Darts spot this weekend while the latter is currently just inside the World Grand Prix spots so a big game as a result.

Adrian Lewis will return to action after a poor PDC Autumn Series and will take on Danny Noppert who is currently leading that race as it stands ahead of Wattimena.

Then it is the turn of 'The German Giant' Gabriel Clemens who will aim to delight the crowd once more against Daryl Gurney. Dragutin Horvat similarly who follows him against Nathan Aspinall with a missed nine darter and a quality display against Ronny Huybrechts, the hopes will be there of repeating the feat.

A battle of former Lakeside World Champions follows with Glen Durrant taking on Scott Waites in probably the game of the afternoon session. As 'Scotty 2 Hotty' pointed out on Friday post match, it will be their first game since he lost to him in the Lakeside World final in 2019.

Waites could have the advantage if slim in this tie due to already playing a game on the stage while Durrant only flew in on Friday afternoon but 'Duzza' will aim to make a statement as he searches for his first European Tour crown if he can get past a tough first test.

Then finally it is Rob Cross who recaptured some form at the World Series of Darts Finals against William O'Connor who impressed against Daniel Larsson on Friday.
