On Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16, the final four Challenge Tour tournaments of the season will be played in Leicester.

After 20 of the 24 tournaments, first place on the PDC Challenge Tour Order of Merit is in the hands of Scott Williams. He has won four tournaments and is on top with 9350 pounds. Number two Robert Owen follows close behind with 5600 pounds, followed by Danny van Trijp (5500 pounds) and Stephen Burton (5000 pounds).

The number one ranked player will receive an invitation to the Grand Slam, the PDC World Darts Championship and a Tour Card for 2023 and 2024. Williams is still eligible for the Grand Slam of Darts. However, through the PDC Pro Tour, Williams has already secured a World Darts Championship spot and a PDC Tour Card also appears to be already certain.

But the dilemma will be whether Williams wants to take the one year Tour Card on his current money likely inside the top 64 or start from zero and get a two-year Tour Card. If he takes the former Owen and Van Trijp benefit. The latter has a lead of 500 pounds over Stephen Burton, while Jurjen van der Velde (700 pounds behind), Karel Sedlacek (800 pounds) and David Pallett (900 pounds behind) are also still somewhat close. Van der Velde though would only be fighting for a World Championship spot with his Tour Card basically confirmed through the Development Tour.
