The PDC's decision to invite not only the top 16 on the Pro Tour Order of Merit but also the top 16 in the world rankings to the Euro Tour tournaments has caused much criticism among darts followers and fans.
A common criticism is that in this way the difference between the absolute top and the other players increases. There was silence from the players for a long time, but Mickey Mansell has now publicly spoken out against the PDC's decision on Monday.
The Northern Irishman absolutely disagrees with the darts federation's decision. ''PDC on a crest of a wave publicity wise, the tour changes announced last night is a kick in the stomach for two-thirds of the 128,'' Mansell wrote on X. The eight-time World Darts Championship participant also added the hashtag #elitism.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
