Former world champions
Adrian Lewis and
Raymond van Barneveld faced off on Saturday night at an exhibition tournament in the English city of Birmingham.
It was by now a get-together between two darting granddads. Both have been around the circuit for a very long time, and after Van Barneveld first became a grandfather in 2015, 41-year-old Lewis welcomed his first grandchild this week.
Lewis didn’t come down from that pink cloud, as “Jackpot” beat his old rival 7-2 and posted a fine 99 average in the match. Lewis also played another tie against Robert Owen and won that one 3-1.
Barney also took to the oche in another match and did win that encounter. The 58-year-old from The Hague edged out Jonny Clayton 3-2. The latter did claim a 4-0 win over Owen.
