While
Adrian Lewis is seemingly unlikely to continue his comeback next year at least for the time being, he can count on the support of a long term backer when he does in Target Darts.
Lewis has extended his sponsorship agreement with the manufacturer which goes all the way back to 2011. He joined Target in 2011, the same year he secured a second World Championship and they continue to work together now even in the event that Lewis is currently taking some time away from darts.
He has mainly only played exhibitions over the past season with an appearance or two in the MODUS Super Series as he looks at a potential comeback.
Lewis resigns with Target as uncertainty continues on immediate return
“Adrian Lewis has been an integral part of the Target family for over a decade, and we are delighted to extend our partnership with him. His talent, personality, and impact on the sport are undeniable. Adrian continues to inspire players around the world, and we are proud to support the next chapter of his incredible career," said James Tattersall, Group CEO of
Target Darts.
But in reality, Lewis as
first reported by DartsNews.com semi let it slip that he wouldn't be going to Q-School despite murmerings that he would with 'Jackpot' signing up to exhibitions on weekends that ProTours and European Tours would be played.
Just this week, he gave an update as to where his head is at to Online Darts. "I’ve been playing half-decent in patches. I’ve been knocking in good averages — 116s, 110s — on a regular basis, not just once. But then I’m averaging 80-odd," Lewis said.
"I’ve been up and down. But I’m enjoying it again, and that’s the main thing. It’s all steps. And if I go back full-fledged into the PDC, my mind needs to be 100%." If a return is on the cards, Lewis wants to do it properly. "I don’t want to turn up like a fool. I don’t want to be a journeyman. If I turn up, I want to be there to win the tournaments. And at this moment, my mind isn’t 100%," he confidently stated.
Whether he returns in 2026 or beyond, he has the support of one of his leading backers for a number of years.
