Gary Anderson has claimed the opening tie of Night Two of the 2021
Premier League Darts by edging past Jose de Sousa in a 7-5 win.
Anderson has claimed what is only the second win so far with Nathan Aspinall victorious in a draw laden opener last night but he snuck past 'The Special One' who missed three darts to claim a point.
Anderson produced a superb start to proceedings with some incredible finishing. This saw him start with a 112 and a 145 to see him head into a 2-1 lead early on.
He nailed double 20 from there to go 3-1 up with a 109 average as he started to motor in the opening game.
Despite this, De Sousa wasn't playing bad and reduced the arrears to 4-3 with a break and made it parity from there at 4-4.
But Anderson edged back in front and both players held their throws from there which allowed 'The Flying Scotsman' at least a point but in a leg which could see him draw once more.
De Sousa had his chance to draw after Anderson missed a 142 drifting into single eight but three darts went begging for 'The Special One' which allowed the latter to return and hit a clutch double seven for only the second win of this year's Premier League.
