James Wade saw off the reigning Grand Slam of Darts champion, Luke Humphries 5-3 to end his tournament and move through. But he had some choice words in particular for a certain Wayne Mardle after his win.
Wade spoke to the media and said that according to Mardle, he was lucky and it was nothing to do with ability. He moves on though while Humphries heads home.

"I was very lucky. But I disagree with Wayne Mardle. Apparently it was all my luck and nothing to do with ability. So yeah I was just happy, me and Luke had a battle but it is what is and move on
"I was unlucky against Mickey Mansell, I believe I was probably the better player in that game. He got a touch a luck. Still in luckily. I think most of my frustration goes towards Mickey Mansell and not personal. But it was his slow approach to the dartboard and slow walking back. I thought we dealt with that in the 90's, early 2000's."
He also lauded Humphries who he is known to be friends with. 'Cool Hand' confirmed afterwards that he is dealing with some issues off the oche hence his poor displays in Wolverhampton compared to his usual heights.
"The factual information with Luke is that he is the best player in the world and he's a shiny hope for people and fans around the world. I believe he's got some personal stuff going on as he just hasn't been himself. Feels like it wasn't Luke."
