The first two ties of the afternoon session at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy are complete with Nathan Aspinall and Peter Wright both through.

Aspinall dumped out Michael van Gerwen in a 6-3 win. 'The Asp' was 5-0 up and seemingly on his way to a whitewash but survived a late comeback from 'Mighty Mike' who broke throw with a ten darter, followed by a 130 checkout.
The Stockport ace missed bull for the match and Van Gerwen hit the same target to go 5-3 behind but he held his nerve with pressure added by MVG to claim the victory with a 100 checkout.
Wright similarly against Mensur Suljovic flew into the lead going 3-0 up and he extended that to 4-0 taking out a 108 checkout in the process.
Suljovic started to come back with a back-to-back 180's and went 4-1 behind but Wright hit another 108 to go within one at 5-2 and despite 'The Gentle' staying in it, it wasn't for long with 'Snakebite' finishing the job.
