Aspinall has been struggling with an elbow and wrist injury to his throwing arm for several months. During the World Darts Championship, The Asp was seen playing his matches with a medical tape on his arm. The former UK Open champion will be undergoing further treatments to help with his injuries.
The Englishman's place is taken by Devon Petersen. The South African will take on Luke Humphries in the first round. The winner of that match will meet Michael van Gerwen in the last sixteen.
