Nathan Aspinall is back top of the Premier League table as it stands after playing out a draw against
Gary Anderson.
Aspinall will only stay there though if Jose de Sousa narrowly defeats Michael van Gerwen in the final match of the night as the race for the league winners' bonus continues.
Aspinall claimed a break of throw to begin the tie with a 15 darter on double 20 and this was consolidated with a relatively comfortable hold of throw as he went 2-0 up.
This break came in handy as he held to go 3-1 up with a stunning 110 checkout on double 18, Anderson at the time was left on the same target.
Anderson hung on in the tie with a hold and broke back with a 180 and double six for an 11 darter and parity at 3-3.
A hold in the form of a 118 checkout saw Anderson lead for the first time at 4-3 up. He missed the big 14 on a 114 checkout and Aspinall stopped the rot at 4-4.
He produced a 180 as he started to fight back but only got a shot after Anderson missed 124 on the bull.
Aspinall clipped the wire of double 14 to break break but returned once more with Anderson fluffing his lines and 'The Asp' hit the front once more with a break at 5-4 up.
He began to motor and he added a 121 checkout on the bull to make it three legs on the spin and make it 6-4.
Anderson wasn't going to roll over and started his throw with a 180. He held throw to remain a leg down at 6-5.
He had six from 181 on Aspinall's throw and despite only hitting 60, the latter couldn't apply pressure. Anderson returned for a 64 checkout but missed double 20.
He finally pinned double 10 next time around after Aspinall chased round the board off 92 to no avail. A 112 checkout saw Anderson claim at least a point.
Aspinall got down to 54 but missed two for the match only to have his blushes spared by a missed dart at the bull from 129 for the win for Anderson. The former returned as a result for a share of the spoils.
