The tenth tournament of the PDC Development Tour took place yesterday at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester, with Germany’s Dominik Gruellich emerging as the champion. In an all-German final, Gruellich delivered a dominant 5-0 victory over Leon Weber to claim the title. The highest average of the day, however, belonged to Beau Greaves.
The 21-year-old English star, who had won the sixth Development Tour event just days earlier, posted a staggering 107.36 average in her last-256 match against Declan Thorpe, securing a 4-0 win. Despite her impressive form, Greaves' run ended in the quarter-finals with a 5-2 defeat to Weber.
Greaves remains the undisputed leader of the PDC Development Tour rankings, holding a commanding £2,200 lead over second-placed Owen Bates. She also continues to impress across multiple circuits, maintaining second place in the PDC Challenge Tour standings while leading the PDC Women’s Series.
Gruellich also delivered a standout performance, recording the second-highest average of the tournament with a 106.67 in his last-128 match against Davie Duval, which he won 4-1. His tournament victory has propelled him to third in the Development Tour rankings after ten events. However, he still trails Greaves by over £4,000 and Bates by just over £2,000.
Greaves appeared again in the top three averages of the day, producing a 101.90 in her last-16 match against James Beeton, which she won 4-0.
The PDC Development Tour continues on May 9-11 in Hildesheim, where the next five tournaments will take place. After 24 events, the top two players in the final standings will earn a coveted PDC Tour Card for the next two years and secure spots in the PDC World Championship.
