Cameron looks back on World Seniors Masters win after PDC Worlds debut win: "Phil Taylor is not the same guy as a few years back"

The reigning World Seniors Darts Masters champion David Cameron marked his PDC World Darts Championship debut with an incredible comeback win against Ritchie Edhouse, sealing a round 2 tie with 9th Danny Noppert.

Aided by the infamous Ally Pally wasp, Cameron came back from the dead, winning nine of the last ten legs after Edhouse had missed six darts for a whitewash win. "I didn't even know it was on there," Cameron said of the wasp. "But it's never over till it's over, just try and stick in there and do what you do because I knew my game was good and it worked out well."

In May of 2022, Cameron defeated none other than the great Phil 'the Power' Taylor in the final of the World Seniors Darts Masters 6-3 to become the event's inaugural champion. However, in Cameron's mind, this isn't the impressive feat many may think it is, "I've said it before and I'll say it again, Phil Taylor is not the same guy as a few years back. But at the same time when I got to play him and win it was a lot of fun."

Having had multiple Lakeside appearances in the past, Cameron believed his experience paid dividends in the end. "When I look at the whole situation I definitely feel like my experience helped me. The crowd was amazing out there" Next up for the last remaining Canadian in this year's event is UK Open champion, Danny Noppert.
