During the World Championship, he made headlines after an incident in which, out of frustration, he smashed a small table on stage following his defeat to Charlie Manby. He injured his hand in the process, sparking concerns about potential lasting damage.

The situation was further intensified by the fact that his relationship with Sherrock ended around the same time.
