Cameron Menzies appears to be getting his life back on track after a turbulent spell in which he was under the microscope both on and off the oche. The Scot, who earlier this season
caused a stir with an emotional outburst at the World Championship, has announced his new relationship on social media.
On
Instagram, a photo appeared showing Menzies with his new partner Suzanne Lewis. The pair shared an intimate moment, confirming their relationship. Lewis wrote with the photo: “grateful for you Cameron,” accompanied by heart and kiss emojis. This seems to draw a definitive line under his previous relationship with Fallon Sherrock.
The past few months have been anything but easy for Menzies. During the World Championship, he made headlines after an incident in which, out of frustration, he smashed a small table on stage following his defeat to Charlie Manby. He injured his hand in the process, sparking concerns about potential lasting damage.
The situation was further intensified by the fact that his relationship with Sherrock ended around the same time. According to reports from his inner circle, that happened just before the Worlds, which further increased the mental pressure on the thrower. Menzies is known as a player who does not always keep his emotions in check, regularly putting him in the spotlight. The events at the Worlds fit that pattern, although he later hinted that he wants to work on himself.
With his new relationship, there now seems to be a more stable phase. Little is known about Suzanne Lewis, partly because her social media accounts are largely private. Her profile does suggest she may already have children from a previous relationship, which would mean Menzies is also taking on a new role in his private life.
For the Scot, it marks a clear change from a few months ago, when he was still with Sherrock and his career was overshadowed by incidents and personal setbacks.
