The groups for the Champions League of Darts have been confirmed ahead of the TV tournament's debut in Leicester in just over 2 months time.
The big news to come out of the announcement is Group A; with it probably being one of the toughest groups in the history of the Champions League of Darts.
It is headed up by world number one Michael van Gerwen; who is joined by recent World Matchplay finalist Michael Smith; as well as defending champion Gary Anderson and nine-time major champion James Wade.
Group B is headlined by Rob Cross who recently became World Matchplay champion; alongside Daryl Gurney, Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price all of whom are in great form. In both groups, there are some thrilling match ups so the Morningside Arena is in for a treat when the tournament debuts there in October.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
