Chisnall defeats Dobey to claim third PDC title of 2019 at Danish Darts Open in Copenhagen

Dave Chisnall has claimed his third PDC title of the season and his first on the European Tour in nearly six years with victory at the Danish Darts Open in Copenhagen.

It is a fifteen PDC title overall for the St Helens ace who saw off Chris Dobey to become the fourth different European Tour event winner along with Michael van Gerwen, Ian White and Daryl Gurney.

He started brilliantly hitting a 180 but Dobey was on form and smashed in a 146 checkout with Chisnall sat on a double. He followed that up with a 87 checkout to double his lead.

Chisnall replied though with a 84 checkout which was a 12 dart leg to halve the deficit and he got on level terms from there.

Three straight legs for him saw him lead 3-2 and break the throw. He went further ahead but Dobey stopped the rot with a 100 checkout.

'Chizzy' though continued his march by restoring a two leg cushion at 6-3 up. Dobey wired double 16 for a 140 checkout and so he was allowed to go one away.

Chisnall sealed the deal with a brilliant 115 checkout to claim the title and end another brilliant weekend of European Tour action.
