Christian Perez stuns Gerwyn Price to reach quarter-finals of Players Championship 4; Peter Wright and Raymond van Barneveld also into last 8

Gerwyn Price has been stunned in the last 16 of Players Championship 4 in Leicester. Filipino Christian Perez has taken a 6-4 win over the former world champion to reach the last 8.

Elsewhere, Dirk Van Duijvenbode recorded a very fine 6-4 victory over Gian van Veen with an average of 106.30. Among other things, the Dutchman threw two 11-darters and a 12-darter, showing he is on the way back after a lengthy shoulder injury.
Raymond van Barneveld has also reached the quarter-finals after a comfortable 6-3 victory over Florian Hempel. 'Barney' took the first three legs of the match and then ran out to 5-2. Hempel was then allowed to take one more leg, before Van Barneveld decided the match with a 14-darter.
Chris Dobey, who had earlier defeated Michael van Gerwen 6-0 eased past Niels Zonneveld 6-2 as Peter Wright, Scott Williams, Damon Heta and Brendan Dolan also made it to the last eight.
