Clayton claims ninth consecutive win over Clemens, set to face Gilding in semi-finals of Belgian Darts Open

The first semi-final is confirmed at the Belgian Darts Open as Jonny Clayton will face Andrew Gilding later this evening in Wieze with 'The Ferret' now the favourite to seal the title.

Clayton faced Gabriel Clemens and the hoodoo that the Welshman has over 'The German Giant' continued as he made it nine consecutive wins to move through and survive a scare.

In doing so, Clemens missed three match darts and the great escape was complete as Clayton took out 64 with Clemens slipping into single seven going for a treble for 116.

He was the first of two German players to be sent packing in an hour as Martin Schindler also was out at the hands of Gilding who continues to show his brilliance in his brand new shirt.

The German missed opportunities to win leg in the second, third and fifth leg and thus faced a 4-1 deficit. In the end it was 6-2 for 'Goldfinger' with four 180's en route.
