Clayton lauds praise on Petersen after German Darts Championship final defeat: "He's proven to the darting world that he's on the map"

Jonny Clayton lost out in the final of the German Darts Championship on Sunday night to a phenomenal Devon Petersen in Hildesheim.

But despite the defeat, Clayton was full of praise for his opponent and said it was 'well deserved' after the form he has shown as of late.

For 'The Ferret' despite defeat, he has qualified for the World Grand Prix and showed excellent form in reaching a final.

"Devon is absolutely class and this is well deserved," said the Welshman.

"He's been in tremendous form for months and he's proven to the darting world that he's on the map.

"For myself this weekend has been brilliant. I've enjoyed some good wins and the German crowd were great as always."
