For
Jonny Clayton the PDC
World Darts Championship continues after the Christmas break. He defeated in the second round of the World Darts Championship Danny van Trijp 3-0 in sets.
In that match the Welshman played an average of almost 100 and had a doubles rate of around 50 per cent. "I'm very happy with that. I need that for my confidence," The Ferret stated in the following interview with Elmar Paulke on DAZN.
Earlier, news had circulated that Clayton had given up his profession as a plasterer. The Welshman confirmed the news: "I had to make a decision. Either my job for the county or be a professional darts player. i chose the professional darts player to be honest. But you can take my word for it, if things go wrong I'll be back." (laughs)
On Tuesday 27 December Clayton will already be back on stage in the afternoon session. Nevertheless, the Welshman has gone home for the Christmas period. "It takes me three and a half hours to drive back. That's why I'm going home and coming back either in the evening on the first holiday or the morning of the second," he concludes, explaining his plans for the Christmas break.
