Henry Coates has claimed an elusive maiden Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) title with victory in a strong field at Rileys Sheffield on Saturday.
The Matlock ace has been in brilliant form all season but up to this past weekend had not yet claimed a title on the JDC Tour; with his talent shown by getting to the JDC European Open semi-finals last December.
He defeated Nathan Care 5-3 in the final after seeing off Alfie Jacques and Harry Martin along the way. Care himself had defeated the form player in the field in the form of Leighton Bennett but lost out to Coates.
