Nicholson saw off Arron Monk in a 5-3 victory which could have in reality gone either way between the pair but a 170 checkout was the catalyst for 'The Asset'.
Monk also played his part averaging 96 and hitting 75 percent of his doubles but Nicholson had more darts at doubles with 5/13 compared to 3/4 which proved pivotal in seeing the former Players Championship Finals winner.
Former World Championship semi-finalist Jenkins also made it two from two in seeing off Jarred Cole in a 5-3 win; the latter's poor start continues with a 74 average despite claiming three legs in the match while for Jenkins he hit an 84 average with 45 percent on the doubles.
Collins claimed his first win by denying Arron Monk in a 5-3 win. The latter averaged 100 but it was the player who is currently second on the Challenge Tour who came through with a 96.8 average and 5/8 on the doubles as he aims to build on a slow start on the opening day.
