Following his defeat in the final week 12 of the
Premier League Darts in Rotterdam,
Gerwyn Price took to Instagram and hit out at the playing conditions on stage.
After a 6-3 win over the reigning world champion and world number one Michael Smith, Price comfortably defeated fellow Welshman Jonny Clayton 6-1 in the semi-finals. In the night final against Nathan Aspinall however Price failed to really get going. Averaging just 88.52 as he suffered a 6-4 defeat to the Asp.
Now on his official Instagram account, Price has revealed the reason behind his poor performance in the final.
"Gutted to have played like that tonight crowd were great as always," says the Iceman who wore a special orange version of his traditional shirt to try and get the Dutch crowd onside. "Conditions absolutely weren't great. I'll learn and we go on... See you in Leeds," the post concludes.
One can only hazard a guess at what exactly Price means by that but the fact remains that the conditions were the same for the both players up on the stage.
