Cross after edging past Cullen to reach European Championship Quarter-Finals: ‘I’m just happy to get over the line really’

Rob Cross defeated Joe Cullen in a 10-7 win to move through to the Quarter-Finals at the European Championship.
Cross spoke afterwards and admitted that in reality he is just pleased to get over the line.
’Voltage’ said that neither player played great but that he was the best player and that is exactly what you need to do.
“I’m just happy to get over the line really, I missed chances early on and so did Joe,” said Cross.
“We weren’t at our best but I think the best player won a bad game and sometimes that’s what you need to do.”

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
