Rob Cross has continued his title winning exploits with his second title in just five days winning on Day Three of PDC
Super Series 7 in Barnsley denying Ryan Searle 8-6 in the final.
Cross like his opponent had reached the Quarter-Finals and Last 16 in the opening two days after winning the European Championship but added his first ProTour title in a quality clash between two former graduates of the Challenge Tour in the same year.
Cross produced a brilliant start with a 124 checkout on the bull followed by a 13-darter on double 20 to make it 2-0.
Searle got off the mark but he bust 101 before missing four darts at doubles, which allowed Cross to step in for 3-1.
Cross missed 144 but Searle couldn't get a shot for 110. A rare miss though on double 18 threw Voltage off though and Searle hit double 20 to make it 3-2.
'Voltage' could hit double nine next time to hold and make it 4-2. A big error on 121 wasn't punished by Searle and Cross pinned double 16 to break again and make it 5-2.
An 80 checkout saw him consolidate that to make it 6-2. An 87 checkout saw Searle stop the rot of sorts and hold to make it 6-3.
Cross handed Searle a reprieve and he took it last dart for a break at 6-4. A 54 checkout kept the momentum going as Searle searched for parity.
Cross recemented the two leg lead with an 82 checkout to go one away. A 105 checkout was hit by Searle but he needed a break to force a decider.
He was first to a finish in 104 with Cross leaving 76 from 210. Searle missed double 20 to force it and Cross returned aiming at 76. He snuck the second dart just into the single 20 and pinned his go to double 18 for the title.
