Cross dumps out Van Gerwen, set to face Wright in second semi-final at 2023 Masters

Rob Cross will face Peter Wright in the second semi-final at the 2023 Masters after dumping out Michael van Gerwen 10-7 in Milton Keynes to complete Sunday afternoon.

Cross who has called the season opener a 'stupid tournament' could yet add it to his collection later this evening after hitting a 96 average and 43.5% on the outer ring in toppling the Green Machine.

To begin the tie, it was one way traffic for Cross who eased into a 4-1 lead with a 102.5 average punishing 17% on the doubles from the Dutchman.

MVG responded with a 148 checkout towards the break but Cross maintained a two-leg cushion at 6-4.

Cross though eased away again hitting a 96 checkout and 60 checkout to go one away at 9-5. Van Gerwen piled on the pressure going 9-7 down with a 116 checkout but Cross finally got over the line with a 76 checkout.
