The Group Stage action continues on Saturday afternoon with Danny Noppert and Rob Cross sealing victories albeit in contrasting fashion at the Grand Slam of Darts.
Cross recovered after a poor opening two legs to reel off five consecutive to see off Adam Gawlas in a classy opener from 'Voltage' who will now play Dirk van Duijvenbode tomorrow with the winners of the groups facing off.
The former World Champion closed it out with a 100.8 average and 5/7 on the doubles in contrast to the display of Noppert in surviving a match dart and a real scare against debutant Christian Perez.
Perez on his TV debut showed himself to be like other players such as Lourence Ilagan and Noel Malicdem from the Philippines to have the game to trouble the top names and he certainly did that.
It was a match that went all the way but one which saw Perez get a shot at 76 to seal it and he spurned his opportunity getting one dart at double 18 which he missed.
