Cullen after claiming Day One title at PDC Super Series 4 after long lay off: “It felt like a first day back at school”

Joe Cullen claimed his second title of the year on the Players Championship series after seeing off Gerwyn Price on Day One of PDC Super Series 4.

Cullen like Price experienced a long layoff from his last appearance on the PDC Tour after deciding against playing in Germany.

As a result, it was a strange experience for ‘The Rockstar’ who cemented his spot at the top of the ProTour Order of Merit with victory.

"I was hoping to win one of the titles this week but I wasn't expecting it on the first day after such a long lay-off," Cullen said to the PDC.

"It felt like a first day back at school, I was very unsure of myself at the start of the day but it's funny how things work out sometimes.

"I've missed the kind of pressure I felt at the end of the final. I fell over the line at the end but the important thing is I found a way to win."
