Cullen, Heta, Aspinall and Van den Bergh among early winners at Players Championship 14, Cross and Humphries out

The first round has began at Players Championship 14 with Joe Cullen, Damon Heta, Nathan Aspinall and Dimitri van den Bergh among those through to the Last 64.

Cullen eased past Vladimir Andersen 6-2 with a 95 average, while Aspinall edged past Martijn Kleermaker.

Heta hit a nine-dart finish in seeing off Keegan Brown, while Van den Bergh saw off Ted Evetts.

The likes of Brendan Dolan, Michael Smith, Chris Dobey and Dave Chisnall are also through but for Luke Humphries and Rob Cross, they are both out early.

Humphries fell 6-0 in a shock loss to Max Hopp, while Cross lost out to recent ProTour finalist, Matt Campbell.
