Cullen opens Austrian Darts Open campaign with Williams win, Home hero Lerchbacher stuns Searle

The second round continues at the 2022 Austrian Darts Open with Joe Cullen opening his campaign with victory despite two seeds falling as the afternoon session continues.

Cullen was facing a tricky test in Jim Williams but got off and running with a 6-4 victory over the recent first time ranking winner.

This featured a 98 average, five 180's and a high checkout of 152 and he now moves into the final day.

As does Zoran Lerchbacher with 'The Hypercane' continuing to impress the home faithful with only Rowby-John Rodriguez the other representative still involved.

Lerchbacher won in style yesterday with a 157 checkout but didn't have to produce such heroics this time as he punished an out of sorts Ryan Searle in a 6-3 victory to dump out the first of two seeds.

With the other falling being Brendan Dolan. It was Gabriel Clemens who accounted for him in a 6-3 success for 'The German Giant'.

All capped off with a 137 checkout on two double tops. Without the pressure of the home faithful which is usually the case, could Clemens thrive this weekend in Graz?
